Water Rate Increase

WATER RATE INCREASE

TO THE RESIDENTS OF LOGANTON BOROUGH:

A meeting was announced and held on August 18, 2021 to inform the residents about the upcoming increases in water and why the increases.

We have always tried to keep the water rent in Loganton Borough as low as possible but increased chemical costs, maintenance costs, and now, equipment upgrades are all leaving us with no choice but to raise the water rent. We are working on grants to help with the upgrades but there are no guarantees and not in a timely manner.

It is with regret that we must notify you of the following water rent rate increases:

• The basic rate (per quarter) for the first 3,000 gallons of water consumed will increase from $50.00 to $100.00.
• Each additional 1,000 gallons of water consumed will increase from $1.50 to $3.00.
• The basic penalty rate will remain the same at 15% and will remain the same at 25% when extended into the shutoff phase.
• An initial connection fee will increase from $25.00 to $50.00.
• The re-connection fee after a water shutoff phase will increase from $25.00 to $50.00.
